Below are a few quick tips on how to care for your cashmere.
It is highly recommended to hand wash your cashmere garment, rather than machine washing or dry cleaning. Once your product is cleaned, dry it flat on a towel so that it does not lose its shape. However, cleaning your product isn’t the only part of caring for your cashmere.
MOTHS! Moths love cashmere, especially any with moisture in the fibres, So be sure to store it safely and make sure it is totally dry. With each purchase from Pink and Ginger you will receive a complimentary cotton storage bag. Another determinant for moths are cedar balls. Masking the smell with cedar wood, lavender or rosemary helps to keep the garments moth free.
A different problem you may face is pilling. No matter how good the quality of the cashmere, sadly it is always prone to pilling. To deal with pilling you can use a cashmere comb and gently run the comb over the knitwear to pick up all the pills, breathing new life into your cashmere product.
